Usually up to 8 players play against the house represented by the croupier. Croupier also known as dealer, who spins the roulette wheel and handles the bets and payouts. There are 37 slots shows 36 numbers and one zero in French and European roulette version. In the USA all most all roulette wheels have two zeros and therefore have 38 slots.
Each player prefers buys-in different colored chips so that their bets don't get mixed up with other casinos gamblers. And if player win at the end of game they can exchange colored chips with cash chips.
You have to place bet or bets on any number in the table layout or outside, and when every player at the table had chance to place their bets, the dealer begins the spin and launches the ball. Just before few minutes the ball launched, the dealer says 'no more bets'. Then after no one will allow to place or change their bet until the ball falls on slot. The winners are those players of UK casinos, whose bets are on or near to the number come up. Bets on the outside layout can also win if the winning number is represented.
