One of the best internet gambling books ever written is by far the book written by Jean Scott. The Frugal Gambler rapidly became the go-to book by many gamblers who were interested in finding out more about the life of the low-rollers who wanted to live like the high rollers in Las Vegas and every other gambling destination in the world. The life of Jean Scott was a life lived as a high roller with low roller money management according to Jean’s personal accounts in her book. However, this video poker queen of comps left readers to imagine exactly how much she really spent in the machines and how much she retrieved back in so-called winnings.

There are a number of people in the casino gambling world that I would love to meet and pick their brains. Jean Scott is one of them. She is by far a writer who, in my humble opinion, knows her stuff when she wants to write about ‘her stuff’ and unfortunately, in the words of the Queen of Comps herself, her second book shows how she “so didn’t want to write” the book entitled More Frugal Gambling. Jean is very smart on video poker play and she is equally casino-smart on casino gambling ins and outs.

Jean enabled the recreational bingo online gamblers of this world to cash in on the idea of ‘free’ comps supplied to gamblers by the casino. Thanks to Jean , I also learned about the ‘bump’ off of airplanes and followed her guidelines and earned my first ‘bump’ off of a plane the first time I offered to take one along with meals and airline tickets to use later. My husband and I were thrilled because this ‘bump’ took place in Las Vegas and enabled us to return to Las Vegas because we learned the ‘bump’ and how it works.

Jean Scott’s first book helped us in many ways earn the comps we deserved. In fact, I’m sure that many casinos and hosts in Mississippi quickly grew tired of me because I asked for everything at least once. Golf comps, gift shop comps, steak house dinner comps and many other comps. When I didn’t get the comps I felt I earned , the casino hosts I spoke with certainly heard about it and the only reason I knew I deserved these comps was because Jean spoke candidly about complimentaries in her book The Frugal Gambler. And I intended to get my money’s worth since I bought the book.

Jean Scott has created quite a life for herself as a noticeable gambler in Las Vegas. She is a writer who knows how to explain things in conversational style so that readers can follow her advice and she has made it her business to teach gamblers how to gamble and how to become a frugal gambler! 

While I was unimpressed with her second book, I was overjoyed with her first one. She taught me more in that one book than I had ever learned before on the subject of comps. Jean Scott is not only a writer, she is the ‘writer’ on the comp systems of casinos and she is most definitely the authority on many aspects of video poker. Her fans will continue to hope for another Jean Scott book but her fans realize that her first book will be nearly impossible to top!
